About the Conference
This conference belongs to the series of international conferences on Northeast India, held previously in Sikkim University (Nov. 2016, Gangtok), Jamia Milia Islamia (Feb. 2015, New-Delhi), University of Vienna (June 2013, Austria), University of Göttingen (Dec. 2011, Germany) and Leiden University (Spring 2006, Netherlands). It hopes to bring together a group of distinguished scholars and social scientists from different disciplines doing innovative research in Northeast India and it's adjoining areas of Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Nepal. It also hopes to provide a platform for fruitful interaction among scholars, policy makers, community leaders and activists working in the region.
The academic programme will be supplemented by a book display, some cultural events and a sightseeing trip.
